INTRODUCING

Penny Philpott

“My passion lies in the arts and my ambition is to establish the Northern Beaches as the cultural hub of Sydney.”   – Penny Philpott

Rachael Martin in her own words is "Young, energetic, ambitious, and fiercely passionate about democracy".

Having previously run a small business, she has spent years advocating for children with intellectual disabilities. Now through her work as a community liaison officer, she advocates for the local community on a wide range of issues with a real focus on affordable and accessible housing. Having experienced the impact of the housing crisis in her own life and seeing her friends struggling to pay high rents whilst studying and working, she wants to be on Council to be part of the solution.

Rachael completed her degree at USYD in political economy and social policy, whilst running her business working with children with high-needs autism.

Through her work as community liaison for Zali Steggall, she has grown to love the Northern Beaches, while also gaining a unique understanding of the needs and wants of the electorate.

Her experiences have given her great insight into how people’s values inform social policy, and how economics and budget management enables this policy.
